The Drowning Man
You never know what is happening behind the closed doors of a house, like you never know what people are having in their minds, or who they really are. People are not always what they look like. Serial killers are the extreme proof of that. This series of images is a documentary of the life of one of the most prolific serial killer in the U.K., Dennis Nilsen. The project is a combination of real scenes, such as his house where he was arrested, and his workplace in a job centre where he worked until he got arrested. The rest of the photographs are a recreation based on Dennis Nilsen’s stories and quotes. In a ten year period Dennis Nilsen narrated his story to the author Brian Masters, who wrote a book about him, Killing for Company. Each image caption is a quote by Dennis Nilsen. This is to be presented as an installation.
